We're back in Goldenrod, 'cause me and Shinobu just got finished with doing the ad campaign for Scorpia's Hugs for Bewears event! I designed posters and he checked my spelling and helped with the production. It was a really cool event too! Scorpia and Steve Palchuk--you know, the latest guy to beat the Elite Four--gave out free hugs and autographs and Scorpia sang a song she wrote herself. I'm kind of jealous--I can't really sing at all!
Oh yeah, I've met both of them and talked with them once or twice! [ Surprise surprise, he tries to talk to a lot of people, but still hasn't quite figured out how small the off-worlder pool is yet. ] Steve actually gave me two eggs - a Miltank and a Tauros. I meant to say something to Scorpia when she was selling some too but... [ There's an awkward little laugh. ] I already really had my hands full with what I already had. That's awesome to hear that went well for her with your help!
You're already a talented artist from what I've seen, Claudia! It wouldn't really be fair if you could do it all, you know? Or you could just be being hard on yourself. Isn't there some sort of saying about that and artists?
[She giggles.] No, I'm just not at all good. But that doesn't mean I won't sing. I just do that when I'm alone--actually I like to sing along at the top of my lungs when I'm listening to music.

Anyway, that's why Thace and his boyfriend gave Steve P a super powerful Wailmer egg for winning the Championship, because whales are sort of like water cows. That's why their babies are called calves.
Maybe his pokemon had an egg contest. Cam Geary and Arare do that sometimes. They make eggs with as many pokemon as they can to see who'll have the most shiny babies. Maybe Steve's pokemon had a cow egg contest.

[Look, it's not like they're probably having sex, right? The old daycare couple says that making eggs is a mysterious and mystical process and it doesn't really involve sex and Claudia has no reason not to believe them. She's not very good at biology but even she knows there's no way a skitty and a wailord could Do It given their difference in size.]
